Greater Friendship Christian Church is a fellowship which values the Word of God, the ministry of the Holy Spirit, and whose primary function and existence is to exalt the Lord Jesus Christ through service to the people. It is our prayer that everyone would come to know the Lord, to grow in Him, and be used by Him. We are committed to honoring God, loving people and building strong families. It is our heart’s desire that every member would follow the Holy Spirit’s plan for his or her life and live a victorious lifestyle through obedience to the Word of God. We are a ministry of service to the people of God, prayer, praise and worship. We are dedicated to equipping our members for the work of the ministry through inspiration of the Holy Spirit, fellowship, training and teamwork.

“We Welcome You!”
Greater Friendship Christian Church, as it is today, evolved from Steele’s Memorial Baptist Church, which was established in 1915. Steele’s Memorial was located in the East End of Little Rock and acquired its name out of respect for a former pastor, Rev. Jack Steele. From 1915 to the present day, the church membership has followed the leadership of numerous pastors and has built new facilities on two occasions. The first new construction was completed on East Ninth Street, about five blocks from the original location. In the spring of 1964, the second construction of new facilities was completed in the heart of the Granite Mountain Community.
The church remains in this location.
Reverend Percy Gilbert, Jr.
After graduating from McClellan High School in 1974, Pastor Gilbert later attended the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (Nursing) and Arkansas Baptist College (Theology).
